Description: |
Hotel Flora, Venice, Italy. This 44-room charmer is
located at the center of Venetian life and yet, happily, it
is nestled into a quiet side street only steps away from
Piazza San Marco. Beside the Hotel is the Palazzo Contarini
Fasan which according to tradition was the home of
Desdemona, the tragic heroine of Shakepeare's drama
“Othello”. Hotel Flora's guestrooms, intimate and
light-filled, have been furnished with care by the Romanelli
family, each in a different style. Period furniture from the
end of the 17th century, or in 16th-century Venetian style
create a discreet elegance, enriched by damask tapestries
and golden cornices. All rooms have private bath, in-room
safe, television, internet connection, and individually
controlled air-conditioning and heating. Your nights are
serene in Hotel Flora's calm, silent interiors. Upon
request, a third bed can be placed in the largest rooms.
Since 1920, the Flora has provided a cozy and
convenient haven for the city's visitors; and since 1964,
the Romanelli family has transformed the Flora into
one of the city's most elegant small hotels. Particularly
striking and welcoming is the hotel's lovely courtyard and
garden where breakfast is taken in season.
Hotel Flora's staff is at your service for any
suggestions you might need: itinerary ideas, recommendations
on restaurants serving local cuisine or traditional
“Bacari”, taverns for lunch or a quick dinner. The hotel has
three floors and an elevator.
