Description: |
Hotel Regina Paris, France. Created in 1898 - and prized
by Paris's professional architect's committee in 1904 - the
grand Hotel Regina
is uniquely located at the corner of rue de Rivoli and Place des
Pyramides, facing the Louvre Palace and the famous Tuileries
Gardens. Close by are the d'Orsay Museum, Rive Gauche, the Opera
as well as Paris' most alluring shopping and dining venues. The
Regina thus greets you with over a century of tradition and
hospitality: entering into the hotel's large entrance hall
through a curved window revolving door, guests are first
impressed by a flood of daylight, spacious harmony and a main
hall leading to several stylish meeting rooms. The hotel's 120
bedrooms and apartments are furnished in Louis XV, Louis XVI and
Directoire styles, with antique carpets - all the while meeting
the demands of every modern comfort. All guest rooms are
air-conditioned, have TV, hair dryers, an iron, a personal safe
and a mini-bar. Many of the rooms have breathtaking views of the
Tuileries Gardens and some also have balconies from which to
view many of the city's wondrous monuments.
Le Pluvinel, the hotel's gastronomic restaurant, charms with its
padded atmosphere and its carved wooden fireplace and large
mosaic frescoes - not to mention superb traditional French
cuisine. In summer, French windows open onto the charming
interior garden court, La Cour Jardin, where lunch and
dinner are served. There is also the cozy Bar Anglais,
serving light meals; and next to the bar is a very
pleasant Tea-Room where lunch is also served. The family owners
(over several generations) of the Regina have superbly
blended the hotel's timeless, historic past and atmosphere with
the demands of the today's most savvy modern traveler.
