Within easy reach of the Arno River, on the historical Place
of Santa Maria Novella, is situated the lovely and much
noticed J.K. Place. A project of architect Michele
Bonan, who has already designed several prestigious hotels
throughout the world, the J.K. Place is a sublimely
elegant hotel whose urban context blends into an historic
place. The long black parquet floor of the hotel entrance
constitutes a point of meeting between the various parts of
the ground floor: a room with a decorated ceiling and marble
chimney join with modernity furniture; a library that leads
to the rooms elevator; and at the bottom of the corridor
original stone paving suggests a bygone era. 20 rooms are
reached by an original staircase carved out of Cairo stone.
Each room is personalized in decor: obvious but light
elegance. There are four Junior Suites and all, washed in
soothing cream colors, have views of the Basilica of
Santa-Maria Novella. Six traditional double rooms have an
intimate and accessible atmosphere, thanks to the woodwork
of wengé and the soft color schemes; four larger deluxe
double rooms extend on two stages from parquet floor, and
the 9 higher rooms and penthouse represent a true apartments
on the roofs of the city. All the rooms are equipped with
"high tech" accoutrements. The J.K. Place
is a hotel that one leaves with
immediate nostalgia.
